GIS/Geospatial Expert for AI Model Training

Apply hands-on GIS and geospatial expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through practical technical input, evaluations, and high-quality training materials. This remote contractor role focuses on real-world geospatial workflows and the use of advanced AI coding agents in complex STEM work. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert analysis, feedback, and practical examples involving GIS and geospatial data challenges for AI model development.
- Document advanced workflows and problem-solving methods using AI coding agents, including Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
- Describe AI-agent-generated code sequences in detail, including project context, tool selection, and outcomes, rather than conversational use alone.
- Evaluate AI-generated solutions for complex geospatial scenarios, including large codebase navigation, debugging, end-to-end feature development, and architectural changes.
- Share real-world examples where ambiguity or scale created technical challenges and explain how AI agents supported solutions.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project stakeholders to refine documentation and guidance materials.
- Contribute to high-fidelity datasets and evaluations used for AI training and benchmarking.
- Demonstrated expertise in GIS, remote sensing, spatial analytics, or related geospatial technologies.
- Current STEM professional with ongoing technical geospatial work preferred.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents, specifically Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, to solve technical GIS or STEM challenges.
- Experience using Python.
- Experience applying AI agents to complex work such as navigating large codebases, debugging, designing end-to-end features, or resolving ambiguous requirements.
- Ability to generate and analyze AI-driven code sequences, not solely interact with agents through chat.
- Strong technical documentation, analytical thinking, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to clearly explain technical processes and reasoning to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Remote independent contractor engagement.
- $80 to $100 per hour.
