This position is responsible for accurately diagnosing customer concerns, providing clear explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance, and facilitating timely service delivery. The Service Advisor must manage customer expectations while coordinating with technicians to prioritize and schedule work efficiently. Success in this role results in increased customer satisfaction, repeat business, and optimized shop productivity. Ultimately, the Service Advisor contributes to the overall reputation and profitability of the automotive service center by delivering exceptional customer service and technical knowledge. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in automotive repair or service advising roles. Strong understanding of automotive systems and repair processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer proficiency for managing service records and scheduling. Preferred Qualifications Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or equivalent. Experience with automotive service management software. Customer service training or certification. Knowledge of warranty and insurance claim procedures. Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse customer base. Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally, listening carefully to their vehicle concerns and service needs. Document and communicate customer issues to the automotive repair technicians accurately and thoroughly. Provide detailed estimates and explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines to customers in an understandable manner. Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow between customers and the repair team to maximize efficiency. Follow up with customers regarding service status, approvals, and post-service satisfaction to build strong relationships. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, vehicle service history, and parts inventory. Collaborate with parts suppliers and service technicians to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
