NICU Nurse Neonatal
Schedule - Typical patient ratio: 2:1 (days, nights, weekends) - Block schedule available (can work 3+ shifts in a row if preferred) - Weekend coverage: intermittent
Requirements - Minimum 3 years neonatal experience - Auto-offer hardstop: minimum Level III NICU experience for 3+ years OR Level IV NICU for 2+ years - BLS certification - NRP certification - Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP, HF vents, oscillators) - Experience with blood/blood product administration - Central line/PICC care - Feeding tube placement/management (OG/NG/NJ), gavage feeding - Knowledge of syringe pump infusion management - Experience with cardioversion/defibrillation, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blankets) - Ability to perform neonatal dosage calculations
Roles & Responsibilities - Provide high-quality care to neonates and infants in a Level III/IV NICU setting. - Manage ventilator settings and assist with respiratory support. - Administer blood products and manage IV therapies. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes. - Attend high-risk deliveries and assist in neonatal surgeries. - Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting care appropriately.
Compliance / Notes - Orientation: 24 hours - Floating: Rare but may be required to other units as needed. - Pre-approved time off: one request allowed.
