The Safety Technician helps prevent workplace injuries by conducting daily field inspections and monitoring employee work practices. This role ensures operations comply with safety standards, assists with employee training, and supports hazard elimination initiatives. The technician works under the guidance of the Safety Coordinator to maintain a secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspections- audit work areas daily to identify potential safety hazards.
• Monitor- Ensure crews follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Enforce- Verify employees wear correct personal protective equipment for assigned tasks.
• Support- Manage safety resources including hydration stations and PPE supplies.
• Training: Assist management with toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions.
• Report- Document unsafe conditions or behaviors and report them to the Safety Coordinator.
• Engage- Promote a proactive safety culture through constant communication with staff.
• Assist- Complete additional safety-related tasks and duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication skills, basic health and safety knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently or as a team.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills with a commitment to professional confidentiality, hazard recognition, and coaching others to maintain safety standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 lbs. outdoors in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE.
