Senior Accountant – Real Estate We are seeking candidates for a Senior Accountant position with a leading real estate company. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will serve as the primary accounting resource responsible for day-to-day corporate accounting function and the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands‑on corporate accounting experience and MUST HAVE Yardi experience. This is 2-3-month contract that will pay $50-60/hr (depending on experience) within a 30-hour work week. All qualified candidates who are 100% Remote will be considered. Responsibilities: Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules. Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Manage prepaid expenses, including amortization schedules and related journal entries. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and accounting activity. Record and manage accruals and ensure expenses are properly captured in the appropriate accounting periods. Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and reporting. Utilize Yardi to record, review, and reconcile accounting activity. Partner directly with the Controller on accounting operations, close activities, and reporting. Identify process improvements and ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date. Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day corporate accounting activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate, real estate, hospitality, or related environment. Strong understanding of the full month-end close process. Hands‑on experience with prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Experience working independently in a lean accounting environment. Yardi experience strongly preferred. Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to take ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
