Accountant

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour DOE
Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical benefits for the employee and family
Additional Compensation: Monthly performance bonuses

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing food manufacturing and distribution company. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting activities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Process payroll and payroll-related reporting as needed
- Assist with audits and tax preparation by gathering required documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or opportunities for improvement
- Support management with special projects and financial analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, or distribution environments is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
