Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in the Med/Surg Post-Op unit at a Level II Trauma Center. The RN will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring safety and comfort for postoperative patients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive and compassionate nursing care to postoperative patients, including IV starts, wound management, and maintenance of surgical drains and chest tubes.
• Monitor patients using telemetry, pulse oximeters, and other medical devices, documenting findings accurately in Meditech.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to prioritize patient care, respond to emergencies, and ensure timely interventions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, including bedside shift reports and inclusion in care planning.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
• Utilize clinical skills to support patient recovery and facilitate smooth transitions between care stages.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Tennessee.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience, including post-operative care.
• BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Strong knowledge of intravenous therapy, wound care, and surgical drain maintenance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
