Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to post-operative patients in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and recovery. Collaborates effectively with the healthcare team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans aligned with post-operative protocols.
• Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments such as wound vac maintenance and Foley catheter care.
• Monitor patient vital signs, documentation, and response to treatments using Meditech EMR system.
• Educate patients on post-surgical care, ostomy management, and other discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Follow unit policies on prompt attendance, professional appearance, and effective communication.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with at least 2 years of medical-surgical experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in post-op surgical procedures including wound, Foley, and central line care.
• Possess BLS certification.
• Exhibit strong time management skills and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prefer candidates with a background in vascular, bariatric, urology, or general surgery units.
• Show outgoing, customer service-oriented personality with excellent communication skills.
