Job Title Registered Nurse – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Location New Orleans, LA Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 3x12 or 4x12 Hours (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) Key Responsibilities Provide high-acuity nursing care in a Surgical ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio Deliver post-operative care for surgical recovery patients, including those recovering from CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection Support transplant recovery patients including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas recipients Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and pulmonary artery catheters Manage patients requiring Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Float to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs) as needed Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in SICU or a related ICU specialty Active Compact or Louisiana RN license in hand at time of submittal Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (AHA-issued certifications required) Proficiency with Epic electronic health records Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility address (as shown on driver's license) Current NURSYS report required with submission (dated within 4 weeks of submission) Preferred Experience / Skills Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and intra-aortic balloon pump management Background in cardiovascular ICU care, including post-op CABG and aortic dissection patients Experience with organ transplant recovery nursing Why Join Us Work in a high-acuity, specialized ICU environment with opportunities to care for complex surgical and transplant patients Flexible scheduling options available with 3x12 or 4x12 shift configurations Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 773400.
