About the Role
The Company is in search of a President & CEO to spearhead its five-year strategic growth plan and continue its legacy of regional economic development leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the organization's vision and strategy, leading direct business attraction, expansion, and retention efforts, and serving as the chief external voice on economic competitiveness. This role demands a passionate leader with a proven track record in creating growth and prosperity within a community or region, and a strong understanding of the economic development ecosystem. The President & CEO will also be tasked with driving the execution of the strategic growth plan, which focuses on attracting and generating new jobs in higher-wage target sectors, and will be expected to have a history of successful leadership that is visionary, inclusive, and grounded in trust-building collaboration. Applicants for the President & CEO position at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree and at least ten years of senior leadership experience, with a preference for those holding a CEcD designation. The role requires proficiency in community, economic, and business development, as well as strategic planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong character, emotional intelligence, and the ability to collaborate and negotiate with diverse groups. They must be adept at public policy advocacy, demonstrate strategic thinking, and have a consistent track record of execution. The President & CEO will also be responsible for managing a high-performing team, building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders, and representing the organization on various boards. Personal traits such as the ability to manage people and performance, lead through vision and direction, and uphold professional and ethical standards are essential.
