Engineering Manager

Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $98,000.00/yr The engineering manager plans, organizes, directs, or coordinates engineering activities to meet company objectives for design, new part/process development and improvement of existing parts/processes by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Essential Functions / Duties Select, develop, train, and supervise engineering staff. Create and maintain part master, part routing, operational prints, tooling prints and other documents as required on production parts. Review, approve and process customer-initiated changes and internal change requests. Provide technical guidance/assistance to customers, suppliers, and co-workers. Create miscellaneous non-production technical drawings and non-technical documents as required. Establish and maintain robust engineering document control systems. Develop, determine, and implement policies, procedures, and standards. Report on and maintain Key Process Indicator (KPI) goals. Provide assistance on new equipment justification projects. Participate in cost reduction/process improvement projects. Promote Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principles as part of continuous improvement activities. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (Epicor) Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD) Microsoft Office applications (outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Measure equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, etc.) Finite Element Analysis software (DEFORM) Much of the day is spent sitting and working in a professional work environment. Frequent exposure to normal machine shop environment (smoke, oil mist, and shop noise) Travel is minimal and is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required based on customer or supplier needs.
