Job Summary Lee, NH hours: Monday–Friday, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, 20 hours per week. Located at WDH in Lee, NH. Sign‑on bonus & benefits eligible. Join our MRI technologists in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment focused on safe, high‑quality patient care using Philips Blue Seal Magnets. Responsibilities Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies. The scope includes patient preparation, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring and processing images, displaying images, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, and performing quality‑assurance scans. Ensure accurate patient identification and adherence to safety protocols in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines. Execute MRI scans for ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department patients, adjusting parameters to maintain diagnostic quality and managing MRI safety in complex care environments. Insert IV catheters as needed and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, using an MR‑compatible power injector. Understand and communicate contraindications, monitor for adverse reactions, and record all information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Perform point‑of‑care testing where applicable. Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures, enforce adherence to safety policies, and function as a final safety checkpoint before scanning. Identify hazardous malfunctions, secure the area, and remove patients and personnel from the magnet bay during emergencies. Perform scheduled quality control procedures on the MRI scanner and related equipment; record QA results and report potential equipment‑related problems to the supervisor. Assist practice assistants and department staff with scheduling, patient transport, inventory, and filing as needed. Rotate across MRI scanners within the department and be available for occasional overnight shifts and holidays (per‑diem technologists excluded). Qualifications Education – Other certificate/diploma in Medical Imaging required; Associate’s Degree in Medical Imaging preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree is not accepted. Licenses & Credentials – MRI Technical Certification (ARRT or ARMRIT) required upon hire. NH Medical Imaging License (MR)(R) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Experience – 1–2 years as an MRI technologist required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Operate complex electronic equipment and perform quality control procedures. Transfer patients to the MRI scan table and lift patients to stretchers. Provide appropriate care to diverse age populations, supervise students, and work with lab animals for research if required. Maintain ethical standards (patient confidentiality, professional conduct, etc.). Use departmental tools to confirm contrast dosing and patient safety: EMR, MRI search engine, dose calculators, PACS, and other designated systems. Collaborate with local MRI leadership to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal scanner utilization. Build effective working relationships with all departmental staff and hospital personnel.
