Payroll Administrator

Our client, a leading global specialty chemicals and materials manufacturer, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be part of the Global Compensation and Payroll team supporting HR, Finance, and business operations across the U.S. and Canada. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Payroll Administrator

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Range: $50+/hour DOE

What’s the Job?

• Process and oversee payroll for approximately 1,000 employees across the U.S. and Canada, including semi-monthly and weekly payroll cycles.

• Ensure payroll transactions, taxes, garnishments, and wage attachments are processed accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations.

• Audit, reconcile, and maintain payroll records while resolving payroll discrepancies with minimal supervision.

• Partner closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll updates related to hires, terminations, and compensation changes.

• Support payroll audits, year-end activities, payroll system testing, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

What’s Needed?

• Minimum of 5 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.

• Hands-on experience with UKG Payroll is required.

• Experience with Workday HRIS and payroll integrations.

• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, compliance requirements, reconciliations, and internal controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent related experience.
