It is comprised of a 221-bed hospital and various health services throughout the area. The job summary involves a registered professional nurse assuming responsibility for a designated group of patients for a specific shift. The nurse prescribes nursing care based on the nursing process, ensuring consistency with the medical plan of care. This role includes collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care. The nurse will care for patients of all ages, including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Teaching and discharge planning needs are incorporated into the overall plan of care. The position involves delegating aspects of patient care delivery based on clinical competence and legal scope of practice. Education and Work Experience required includes: Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Preferred acute care facility experience. Required Licenses/Certifications include: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS OR HS-ACLS OR RQIACLS) certification. Essential Functions include: Utilizing the nursing process to assess patients and implement individualized care plans. Collaborating with other disciplines to formulate care plans. Applying knowledge of illnesses, injuries, and developmental stages in patient care delivery. Providing patient and family education throughout care delivery. Responding to emergency situations following established protocols. Documenting assessments and nursing interventions provided to all assigned patients. Ensuring patient safety and wellbeing by overseeing the delivery of patient care. Demonstrating responsibility and accountability for clinical decision-making. Practicing registered nursing according to the Nurse Practice Act. Maintaining effective communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians. Organizational requirements include compliance with safety and wellbeing practices. All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
