Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/PICU/CVICU position requiring an active Ohio RRT license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work within the RRT-NICU, PICU, and CVICU units caring for pediatric patients
• May float to Shaker Children's Rehab, Fairview NICU, Akron NICU, and Hillcrest NICU
• High level of care (Level 4 NICU)
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 12-week assignment length with possible 8-week contract variations

Requirements

• Active Ohio RRT license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• NBRC certification required, active with no pending status
• BLS, Advanced NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, 18 months of which must be in the specialty being applied for (preferably within the last 3 years)
• Experience in PEDS, PICU, and NICU (high level care, Level 4) required
• One professional reference required from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months
• Two fingerprinting processes required, including one onsite prior to start and completed within 48 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill pediatric patients across NICU, PICU, and CVICU settings
• Travelers are expected to work every other holiday
• All RTO requests must be discussed during the interview and communicated at time of submission
• Facility is smoke-free and requires candidates to be nicotine-free with no exceptions
• Negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required, with medical or religious exemptions only
• Background check findings of any kind will be reviewed by the facility, though open cases and any license-related issues are not accepted
• Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• Assignments are limited to a maximum of 18 consecutive months, after which a 6-month break is required before returning to this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
