Work Environment

This position operates in a school setting, allowing you to work closely with students and education professionals to address mental health challenges as they arise. You will be onsite, collaborating with school counselors, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive integrated care. Regular office hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and evaluations to accurately diagnose patients’ mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Manage medication protocols, including prescribing, monitoring effectiveness, and adjusting doses based on patient needs and responses.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers and educational staff, to provide comprehensive integrated care that addresses both mental and physical health needs.
• Provide crisis intervention strategies and support for students experiencing emotional distress, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness about mental health issues, educating students and their families on available resources.
• Deliver therapeutic support through counseling sessions, psychoeducation, and skill-building to help patients better manage their conditions.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential electronic health records while adhering to HIPAA regulations, ensuring all information is securely managed.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patient population served by Balanced Perspectives Psychiatry primarily consists of children and adolescents within the school system. This diverse group includes students facing various mental health challenges, ranging from anxiety and depression to behavioral disorders. Your expertise will be critical in providing interventions that promote their emotional and psychological well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in psychiatric nursing.
• Strong understanding of psychiatric principles and youth development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a community health center or school setting is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record systems and telehealth platforms.
• Background in implementing trauma-informed care practices and cultural competence in mental health.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 200,000 to 250,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and related experience.
