Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support a large, growing healthcare system in the Albany area.

This role is responsible for managing full-cycle accounts payable activities across multiple campuses, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, reimbursements, and related transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to join the largest regionally governed not-for-profit health system in northeastern New York and western New England, with strong potential for long-term growth and advancement.

• Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, reimbursements, refunds, and credits accurately and timely within ERP systems

• Review and manage vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals

• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, and timelines

• Monitor payment schedules, including discounts, rebates, and sensitive payment terms

• Prepare and distribute mailed payments

• Maintain and update supplier records to ensure accuracy of payment details

• Track and manage invoices that cannot be processed in ERP, ensuring proper documentation

• Respond to internal and external inquiries in a professional and timely manner

• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including 1099 filings

• Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial regulations

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Treasury, and Supply Chain teams

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience

• Experience with full-cycle AP processing

• Hands-on experience processing vendor invoices and managing vendor relationships

• Proficiency in accounting/ERP software

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, ???????? Excel

• Associate's degree (or comparable experience)

• High attention to detail with strong data entry skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in healthcare or large, multi-entity organizations

• Administrative support experience (filing, scanning, documentation management)

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Ability to manage high-volume invoice processing

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menands, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
