Location: Bentonville, AR 72712
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30/6:00 PM
Weekend Schedule: Saturday & Sunday once every 3 weeks
On-Call: Optional; typically very low call volume

LTC Pharmacist Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support medication management and pharmacy operations in a long-term care setting. This role is responsible for safely dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, monitoring medication use, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting medication-related clinical needs, and supervising pharmacy staff.

Experience working in a long-term care pharmacy environment is preferred. CPR+ software experience is a major plus, even if the experience is not recent.

LTC Pharmacist Key Responsibilities

Accept, review, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely
Ensure medications are appropriate for patients and comply with applicable laws and regulations
Monitor medication compliance and potential medication overuse
Identify drug-related problems and communicate recommendations to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Provide consultation regarding prescription and non-prescription medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, interactions, and proper use
Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files
Provide medication-related patient services and education
Support smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management services
Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
Compound medications for internal and external use
Prepare sterile solutions according to appropriate procedures
Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, clerks, interns, and other pharmacy staff
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations

LTC Pharmacist Schedule

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30/6:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday once every 3 weeks
Optional on-call coverage
On-call volume is typically very low

LTC Pharmacist Required Qualifications

Active Pharmacist license in the state of Arkansas
Pharmacist license must be in good standing
Experience in pharmacy operations and medication management
Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug interactions, dosage, and medication safety
Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills

LTC Pharmacist Preferred Qualifications

Long-term care pharmacy experience
CPR+ software experience — major plus, even if not recent
Experience with medication compounding and sterile preparations
Experience supervising pharmacy technicians or other pharmacy staff
