If you have what it takes to become part of the Vistra family and would like to start a promising career with a global leader, take a look at the exciting employment opportunities that are currently available and apply online.Job SummaryThe Senior Accountant I - supports the accounting and reporting of the Company by performing essential accounting tasks and supporting daily accounting operations.Job DescriptionKey AccountabilitiesExecutes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practicesAssists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.Role Specific Accountabilities:Prepares various journals, account reconciliations, and monthly reportsSupports monthly close and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal standards.Assists in the preparation and analysis of results, including identification of key drivers versus plan, projection, and prior year.Participates in special projects as requested.Education, Experience, & Skill RequirementsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience: 3+ years of experience in Accounting or related fieldExperience preferred in the Energy industry, but not requiredSkills:• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems​• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills​• Process improvement oriented ​• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close processCore Competencies / Key MetricsBusiness Acumen and Industry Insights: navigate and assess Vistra operations and the broader electricity and power generation environment.
