Magic Coil Products is a growing, family-owned steel service center looking for a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Slitter Operator or Slitter Operator Trainee .
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in manufacturing and learn one of the most skilled positions within our facility.
Previous slitting or steel processing experience is not required. We will train the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to learn.
Pay:
$20-$28 an hour, based on experience. We offer a weekly attendance of an extra $1/hr for every hour worked (on top of your base pay), $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd shift, and a twice a year discretionary performance bonus.
What You'll Learn:
You will receive hands-on training to operate and assist with industrial steel processing equipment, including:
- 60" Braner Slitter
- 72" Braner Slitter
- Red Bud Multi-Blanking Line
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced operators with machine setup and production
- Learn how to safely operate steel slitting and blanking equipment
- Load, position, and process steel coils
- Learn proper coil handling and material movement procedures
- Monitor machine performance and product quality
- Measure and inspect finished material to ensure specifications are met
- Assist with changeovers, setups, and adjustments
- Follow production orders and work instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Work closely with operators and production team members to meet daily goals
- Assist in other production areas as needed
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred, but not required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Dependable attendance and solid work history
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and quality
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus
- Steel processing or machine operation experience is a plus, but not required
