Procurement SpecialistOur client is a respected public-sector organization committed to serving the local community through accessible and impactful programs and services. They are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their Finance team and support purchasing, vendor management, contract administration, and procurement processes across the organization.This role is ideal for someone with experience in procurement, purchasing, contracts, or vendor management who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and ensuring purchasing activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established guidelines.Why This Opportunity:Join a mission-driven organization with a strong commitment to community service.Play a key role supporting organization-wide purchasing and procurement initiatives.Partner with internal teams and external vendors to drive efficient purchasing processes.Opportunity to utilize analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills.Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:Coordinate procurement of supplies, equipment, furniture, and contracted services.Research pricing, obtain quotes, and analyze purchasing options to support cost-effective decisions.Prepare and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), and Invitations to Bid.Coordinate competitive procurement processes, including advertising, vendor communications, and documentation.Manage vendor relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for procurement-related questions.Monitor vendor performance, contract requirements, timelines, costs, and warranty obligations.Support employees with purchase order processes, including tracking outstanding orders and fulfillment status.Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting in compliance with policies and regulations.Track and manage warranties and coordinate replacement of covered items.Maintain asset inventory records and assist with physical inventory processes.Coordinate surplus asset disposal or resale activities in accordance with organizational policies.Provide procurement data and support for budgeting, reporting, and audit activities.Assist with developing and maintaining procurement procedures, templates, and training materials.Qualifications:Associate degree in business, procurement, finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.3+ years of related procurement, purchasing, contract administration, or vendor management experience required.Government or public-sector procurement experience preferred.Knowledge of procurement practices, contracting standards, and competitive bidding processes.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate purchasing options and resolve issues.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with databases and automated workflows.Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.Preferred Skills:Experience with public-sector purchasing regulations and compliance requirements.Experience preparing RFPs, RFQs, bids, or vendor contracts.Experience tracking assets, inventory, warranties, or purchase orders.Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support cross-functional teams.$73,000 – $83,000
