Food Service Specialist

Performs a variety of food and guest service duties under general supervision. This position includes the following roles, which will vary by facility need: patient meal tray assembly and delivery, cashier, food assembly, food serving, and cleaning. Position Details Full Time, 30 hours per week Pay Rate: $17.68 – $22.99 (based on experience) Availability Needed: Sunday–Saturday 6:30am–8pm for variable shift assignments Variable Shifts: 6:30am–3pm & 3pm–8pm Required: rotating holiday & weekend coverage Benefits Eligible: Yes – Medical, Dental, Vision, Education Assistance Essential Functions Delivers and presents trays to patients using the standard process. Performs food preparation functions according to system standards (following standard recipe, assembling ingredients) for example, prepares salads, sandwiches, vegetables, and fruit. Follows standardized practices relating to Nutrition Services (e.g., dining experience, meal delivery, maintaining required stock levels). Performs housekeeping functions including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment (oven, fryer, hoods). Performs accurate cash/credit transactions according to system standards and independently resolves basic customer service issues. One or more year of experience in customer service, food service, or patient service (preferred). Demonstrated ability to work with modified diets (preferred). Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred). Physical Requirements Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with customers that require clear communication. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex equipment with precision. Frequent computer, phone, and cable setup and use. Expected to lift, pull, and push equipment, work on hands and knees, bend, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items. Remaining standing for long periods. Tolerate extremes in temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals. Location Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital – American Fork, Utah.
