Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy Engagement and Annual Giving, coordinates key donor pipeline programs and executes the work plan for Grateful Patient, Recurring Giving, and Partners in Medicine outreach. Renews, retains, upgrades, and qualifies donors to be passed on to senior individual gift officers.

Job Responsibilities

• Executes the direct marketing work plan for grateful patient outreach and the Partners in Medicine leadership giving society.

• Actively works to increase leadership giving society membership, retention, and upgrade rates.

• Identifies, qualifies, and refers major and planned giving prospects.

• Maintains a personal prospect portfolio. Develops individual strategies and action plans, from donor discovery through cultivation, solicitation, and closure of gifts.

• Directly responds to prospective and existing donor inquiries.

• Working with the Director, utilizes WCM’s database of record (BBEC) to identify areas of opportunity within the constituent base.

• Works closely with Operations to ensure compliance with all Weill Cornell Medicine guidelines relating to donor outreach and patient data confidentiality and security.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience

• 1-2 years of full-time frontline exposure/experience working with donors (e.g. annual fund, individual giving, alumni giving), preferably in academic, nonprofit, or comparable environment.

• Experience with fundraising databases.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of, and experience with fundraising databases programs such as BBEC and Raiser’s Edge.

• Excellent computer skills including solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.

• Excellent organizational skills including self-management, ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Be flexible and the ability to work independently.

• Able to handle confidential and sensitive information.

• A team-oriented individual that works collaboratively to achieve team goals.

Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Occasional Travel within NYC may be necessary.
