Job Description Construction Buyer Location: Phoenix, AZ Job Type: Full-Time Join One of Arizona's Fastest Growing Modular Construction Companies Russo Modular is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Construction Buyer to join our team. This position is responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and subcontracted services required to support the manufacturing of commercial modular buildings. We are looking for a highly organized professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, building strong vendor relationships, ensuring materials arrive on time, and helping projects stay on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities Purchase construction materials, equipment, and supplies for multiple active projects. Obtain competitive pricing and negotiate with vendors. Issue and manage purchase orders using Zoho Inventory and Zoho Books . Verify pricing, lead times, freight costs, and delivery schedules. Coordinate deliveries with project managers, warehouse personnel, and manufacturing supervisors. Follow up with vendors regarding order status, backorders, shortages, and damaged shipments. Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and Accounts Payable. Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers while continually seeking cost‑saving opportunities. Assist with inventory replenishment and monitor stock levels. Work closely with project management to ensure materials are available when needed. Support continuous improvement of purchasing processes and vendor performance. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of purchasing or buying experience in the construction industry. Experience purchasing commercial construction materials preferred. Strong knowledge of construction products, suppliers, and procurement processes. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Experience with ERP or purchasing software required. Experience with Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, or other Zoho applications is a plus. Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
