Billing Specialist
Location: Wall Township, NJ (On-Site)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing SaaS company, is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to manage the day-to-day billing and invoicing function. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong QuickBooks skills who wants to grow their career in a fast-paced, subscription-based business. Prior experience with SaaS or subscription billing is a huge plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full billing cycle — generate, review, and send accurate customer invoices on a recurring and ad hoc basis
- Process billing in QuickBooks Online, ensuring data integrity between billing records and the general ledger
- Handle subscription billing activities including renewals, upgrades/downgrades, proration, and cancellations
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on past-due balances, and support collections efforts
- Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve customer billing inquiries in a timely, professional manner
- Assist with month-end close by preparing billing-related journal entries and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate customer billing records, contracts, and payment terms within QuickBooks and any billing/subscription platforms
- Support the Controller/accounting team with ad hoc reporting, audits, and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure billing practices comply with company policy and support scalability as the business grows
Qualifications
- 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or accounting experience
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred)
- Experience billing in a SaaS or subscription-based business is a huge plus
- Familiarity with subscription billing platforms (e.g., Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, or similar) a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders on billing matters
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
