Contract | Night Shift (4x12 Hours, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–20 Week Contracts | 36 or 48 Hour Weekly Contracts Accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including diabetes, CHF, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, and various surgical recovery cases
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry and remote monitoring systems
• Perform and manage IV therapy, central line blood draws, PICC line management, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Deliver wound care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed; adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols; may be required to float to a nearby campus

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Telemetry experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to work every other weekend and a minimum of 2 of 3 major holidays
• Must be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification; experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring, post angiogram, post cardiac surgery, post MI care, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with tracheostomy care, arterial blood gas interpretation, continuous bladder irrigation, port access/management, and surgical drains
• Background in bariatric surgery care, CVA management, substance withdrawal, and pre/post thoracic surgery
• Prior charge nurse experience and proficiency with electronic documentation in a community hospital setting
