Manager/Operator

Mum's is a premium, quick-service dessert concept co-founded sisters Alex and Charli, bringing British-inspired, customizable fruit crumble to New York City. Mum’s is much more than a dessert shop, it is a family oriented brand built around quality, genuine warmth, comfort, and community.

We're looking for more than just a store manager; we want someone who will become an integral part of our team as we develop and scale our company into a nationwide brand.

The Opportunity

Our first hire is one of the most important decisions we'll make.

We're looking for an exceptional Store Manager / Operator who will play a key role in establishing the operational foundation and culture of Mum's from the very beginning. Initially, this role will primarily pertain to leading the daily operations of our flagship store. As we grow, you’ll have the opportunity to help us launch future locations, hire and train future teams, and shape the culture and evolution of the Mum’s brand.

What You'll Do

Operations

• Lead all day-to-day store operations to ensure exceptional service
• Own and manage store P&L
• Maintain exceptional standards for food quality, cleanliness, organization, and safety
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and waste control
• Monitor labor scheduling and productivity
• Maintain proper cash handling and reporting procedures
• Ensure compliance with all health and food safety regulations
• Identify operational improvements and implement best practices
• Help develop and refine operating procedures as the business grows

Team Leadership

• Help recruit, interview, hire, and onboard outstanding team members
• Train employees to deliver exceptional hospitality, customer service, and product quality
• Coach and develop staff through regular feedback and mentorship
• Build a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
• Lead by example and foster an enjoyable work environment that people adore

Guest Experience

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience every single day
• Create a warm, welcoming environment that customers want to return to
• Resolve customer concerns with professionalism, empathy, and urgency
• Set the standard for hospitality across the business
• Help turn first-time customers into lifelong fans of Mum's

• Partner closely with the founders on operational strategy

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly preferred, but not required.

• 2–5+ years of hospitality or restaurant management experience
• P&L ownership abilities and financial knowledge of business operations
• Experience hiring, training, developing and leading teams
• Experience with inventory management, ordering, labor scheduling, and cost controls
• Strong understanding of quick-service restaurant operations
• Experience using POS and restaurant management systems
• Experience opening new restaurants/locations
• Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Spanish language proficiency
