Accountant

Accountant – Academic Affairs Administration Department: Budget and Resource Management Overview Provides business and financial support to the OAA Business Services and Finance Regional Campus team, offering a wide range of accounting and fiscal services to regional campuses (Mansfield, Marion, and Lima). Works with campus personnel to ensure processing and operations are timely, efficient, and accurate. Responsibilities Create and maintain financial accounting record‑keeping systems; review and analyze expenditures. Perform monthly reconciliation of campus cost centers, prepare journal entries and cost adjustments, and support month‑ and year‑end close processes. Prepare ad‑hoc reports for analysis as requested. Serve as the main contact for co‑located invoicing and reconciliation. Contribute to continuous quality, efficiency improvement, and overall success as a member of OAA Business Services. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance (or equivalent work experience). Strong understanding of accounting principles. Strong customer‑service skills. Excellent problem‑solving abilities. Ability to understand and navigate the complexities of higher education. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a varying day‑to‑day workload environment. Knowledge of university policies and procedures (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required. Preferred Qualifications 2 years of relevant experience in higher‑education finance. Intermediate use of Excel and familiarity with Workday. Location & Schedule Riedl Hall (0675). Hybrid position requiring on‑site work two days per week at one of the campus locations (Lima, Marion, or Mansfield); remaining days eligible for remote work. Minimal travel beyond on‑site office days. Salary Range $22.93 – $24.00 per hour. Salary determined by education, experience, internal equity, and other factors.
