Staff Accountant

For over 50 years, MHMR has provided community-based services for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), mental health conditions, and substance use disorders, as well as babies and young children with developmental delays. Using innovative approaches, MHMR partners with community organizations to provide services and a hopeful future. MHMR is looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Staff Accountant to join our team. Under general supervision, the Staff Accountant coordinates financial activities for assigned division(s) and/or unit(s), completes funding source required billings and other reports, assures all financial activity is reflected accurately in the agency general ledger, monitors budget-to-actual expenses for assigned units, and provides variance reporting with appropriate explanations. The The Staff Accountant makes recommendations and provides ongoing communication with business directors and/or program managers to ensure financial aspects are managed according to GAAP, UGMS, Federal UGG, Contract and/or Grant terms as appropriate. Defined Education: Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Preferences: Knowledge of advanced computer systems and governmental accounting Substitutions: Master’s Degree and one (1) years’ experience Years’ Experience: Three (3) years Defined Experience: Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field License/Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License MHMR offers an excellent competitive benefits package designed to support the well-being of our employees and their families.
