Some weekends required (approximately 3 weekend shifts per contract period). Float coverage within the organization required as needed. Highlights: Acute care ortho trauma unit with progressive care patients including SBO, fall injuries, lacerations, pneumonia, head injuries, TBI, trauma, ileus, fistula, and fractures Epic charting system required; telemetry experience required Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams First-time travelers welcome; minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown experience required 72 hours of orientation provided to support your transition Patient population includes adults and geriatrics Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission) Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, IMC, or DOU experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Epic charting system experience required Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management and titration, PCA, tracheostomy care, wound care, and more Charge experience and Trauma Level I experience preferred Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This progressive care unit offers dynamic clinical experience with ortho trauma and critical care patients in a well-supported academic medical environment.
