Operator II, Manufacturing

Manufacturing operator position at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Rochester, New York, responsible for inspection, assembly, and packaging of laboratory plastic products. First shift role (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) in a cleanroom environment following GMP standards.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect bottles and components for defects and quality specifications
• Perform 15-minute production inspections on high-volume runs
• Set up and maintain controlled cleanroom work areas with appropriate PPE
• Complete required documentation such as inspection forms and quality control sheets
• Maintain housekeeping standards and alert supervisors to production issues

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction)
• Capacity to work repetitive, high-speed production tasks
• Teamwork and collaborative mindset

Compensation: $19.00–$21.00 per hour; $20.50/HR base (shift differentials: 10% second shift, 15% third shift)
