Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred; first timers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Familiarity with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and 1:4-5 for PCU - Proficiency in Epic charting system Description: This is a float pool position requiring the candidate to be cleared on float units and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling. The role involves caring for adults to geriatric patients with various diagnoses in a progressive care environment. The candidate will need strong skills in managing arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry. Experience in caring for ventilated patients, managing central lines, and interpreting dysrhythmias is essential. Candidates should be familiar with IV insulin protocols and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips. They must be prepared to work in a float capacity, covering various units within the facility. The position includes working every other weekend, totaling an average of six weekends in a 13-week assignment. The traveler is expected to work major holidays if they fall within the assignment period, with specific expectations outlined. Full compliance is required to start on time; delays may result in pushing the start date back. Candidates with prior charge experience are preferred but not mandatory. The role includes interdisciplinary support from various specialty teams, emphasizing team-based patient care.
