Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood Product Administration - Cardiac Telemetry - Central line care and management - Chest tubes management - CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) - Feeding tube care and management - Heparin Protocols - High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation Precautions - Management of Cardiac drips - Management of Vasoactive drips - Management of dysrhythmias - Nasal Cannula - Neuro Stepdown - Non-invasive airway management - Oxygen administration - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown care - Peripheral Line Care and Management - Phlebotomy - PICC line management - Pre/Post neurosurgery care - Starting and maintaining IVs - Telemetry monitoring - Titrating Cardiac drips - Titration of Insulin drips - Tracheostomy care and management - Traumatic Brain Injury Description: All RN roles will be expected to perform their own vital sign checks and blood glucose checks. Patient population includes adolescents to geriatrics. No block scheduling is available. This unit specializes in neuro/stroke, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical care. Titrating cardiac drips is required with continuous telemetry monitoring. Assignments will consist of PCU level patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 with an average daily census of 30 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, and rapid response teams. Compliance with full onboarding is required to start on time. Travelers are expected to work one major holiday during their assignment period. If two major holidays fall within the assignment, travelers will be expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall in the assignment, travelers are expected to work two out of the three holidays. A maximum of 7 days of time off may be requested during the contract.
