Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 80 - 100 % (32 - 40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC Heartland Drive Internal Medicine Clinic. This position will mainly support our Heartland Drive Internal Medicine Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations based on clinical need or hours.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification/License:

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desired Requirements:

• Previous EPIC experience
• Previous Internal Medicine experience

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role
• Previous experience handling and processing lab specimens
