Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) for a challenging and rewarding position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-risk obstetrics and be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor and delivery.
- Maintain high standards of nursing practice while managing multiple patients in the labor and delivery unit.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs throughout the labor process.
- Provide education and support to expectant families regarding the labor and delivery experience.
- Assist in postpartum care, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns.
- Participate in unit activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with a focus on high-risk obstetrics.
- Previous OB experience required.
- Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
- Current certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, and Fetal Monitoring.
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift, specifically from 7 PM to 7 AM, with an expectation of every third weekend.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Unit Information
The unit consists of:
- 12 postpartum rooms
- 4 swing/antepartum rooms
- 5 labor rooms
- 4 triage rooms
- 2 operating rooms
Additional Information
- Ratios: 1:3 on Labor and Delivery; 1:3 antepartum; 1:6 mother/baby couplet.
- Scrubs will be provided.
- Electronic medical record system: Epic.
- Medication system: Pysis.
Please note that during the assignment, the candidate will be part of the unit's rotation pool and may be required to work additional hours as needed to ensure unit coverage. There may also be a requirement to float to different departments, units, or facilities within a reasonable distance, based on clinical competence.
