The 12-Month Nursing Faculty member provides instruction, supervision, and academic support to nursing students in theory, lab, and clinical settings. This position is responsible for curriculum delivery, student evaluation, advising, and participation in program development to ensure high-quality, student-centered nursing education. Key duties include adhering to the campus name badge policy, treating all visitors as guests, engaging with the campus community by reviewing institutional communications, participating in campus events, and supporting a collaborative, positive workplace environment. Position Duties 75% - Classroom and Laboratory Instruction and Student Learning
Provide instruction in both online and traditional tracks, including theory, lab, and clinical components. Create and maintain a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, professional behavior, and achievement of course and program learning outcomes. Post weekly coursework and learning materials prior to the scheduled content week, complete required clinical hours, and ensure timely grading and feedback for theory and practicum courses. Teaching duties in both online and traditional tracks.

Maintaining professionalism inside and outside of the classroom. 20% - Curriculum Development and Program Effectiveness
Plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum; participate in the development and revision of the nursing program philosophy, organizational framework, policies, and procedures; and assist with maintaining appropriate clinical and laboratory learning environments, including skills check-offs. Collaborate with faculty to ensure curriculum alignment and instructional consistency. Planning, implementing, and evaluating curricula.

Keeping equipment and instructional resources up to date. 15% - Student Retention and Recruitment
Directs efforts toward nursing student success by implementing retention strategies designed to identify, support, and intervene with students at risk of withdrawal or academic difficulty. The instructor provides academic advising and counseling to support student progression through the nursing program and maintains regular office hours to ensure consistent access for guidance and early intervention. This position also actively participates in recruitment and outreach activities to promote the nursing programs within the community, healthcare facilities, and local high schools. Participate in faculty meetings, committee assignments, and shared governance activities; collaborate as part of a team-based faculty approach; assist with budgeting processes and renewal of clinical affiliation agreements as assigned; and support departmental and college initiatives. Principles and practices of clinical nursing education within a community college setting.
Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN) Rules and Regulations, including ASBN Rule Part 125 - Standards for Nursing Education Programs (formerly Chapter 6), as they relate to nursing program approval, faculty roles, and clinical instruction.
Federal, state, and institutional policies affecting nursing education and clinical supervision (e.g., FERPA, ADA/Section 504).
Strategies to support student learning, clinical skill development, and successful progression in nursing programs.
Use of approved evaluation tools, documentation, and performance data to assess student learning and clinical outcomes.
Current clinical practices, evidence-based nursing care, and technologies utilized in healthcare and clinical education settings.
Use of institutional research, data analysis, and performance metrics for planning and evaluation.
Current technologies supporting teaching, learning, and academic operations. Skills
Effective classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction that supports student learning and achievement of course and program outcomes.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact professionally with students, faculty, clinical staff, and administrators.
Ability to provide timely, constructive feedback, manage student concerns, and promote professional behavior, accountability, and academic integrity.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for effective communication, documentation, data tracking, reporting, and instructional support.
Ability to use technology efficiently to manage schedules, maintain accurate records, analyze data, and communicate professionally with students, faculty, and administrative staff. Abilities
