A well known global luxury skincare CPG and retail company, hybrid role (3 days/ week in office), luxurious office based in Mid-town, New York City.
Job Description
The Legal Counsel responsibilities include:
- Provide legal counsel on a variety of matters, including contracts, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to align with company policies and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly within the CPG/ retail sector.
- Advise internal teams on legal risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel when required to manage complex legal issues.
- Support dispute resolution and litigation processes as needed.
- Stay updated on legal trends and changes relevant to the CPG/ retail industry.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal best practices.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Legal Counsel should have demonstrable skills:
- Admitted to a US State Bar, ideally New York State Bar.
- Juris Doctor or LLM.
- A strong background in legal practices, preferably within the CPG or retail industry.
- Experience with contract drafting, negotiation, and review.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations applicable to the CPG/ retail sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various teams.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently in a busy environment.
