Sanitation Supervisor

Job Title Sanitation Supervisor (3rd Shift) Location: Downingtown Plant Responsibilities Provide effective leadership to ensure compliance with AIB Food Safety Standards, other auditing organizations, FDA, and state/local food safety regulatory agencies. Manage the facility’s custodial and waste removal services to maintain cleanliness and compliance with sanitation standards. Work weekends as required to maintain sanitation standards and address urgent issues. Oversee the sanitation department’s chemical usage and safety training; maintain training and safety certifications. Maintain a cost-effective sanitation budget to optimize resource utilization and control expenses. Inspect equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards. Direct machine cleaners in sanitary procedures to ensure compliance. Supervise cleaning of equipment, facilities, and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment. Inspect premises for unsanitary practices and address issues promptly. Collaborate with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and food safety; recommend changes in equipment, layout, lighting, ventilation or work practices. Troubleshoot malfunctions or inefficiencies in cleaning processes, such as CIP systems. Provide solutions to management on obstacles that hinder efficiency or quality of cleanliness. Develop sanitation strategies for a frozen food environment to improve and maintain food safety and quality standards. Lead Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings with the department. Facilitate implementation of CAPA for non-conformances and root-cause evaluation from audits, monitoring, and cleaning validation methods. Assist QA and Sanitation Manager in targeting root causes of EMP findings and performing corrective actions. Use aerial lift/working at heights (training provided); enforce authorized Lockout-Tagout procedures (training provided). Assist in developing, implementing, and standardizing the Master Sanitation Schedule and SSOPs. Drive continuous improvement and evaluate new technology and methods to improve cleaning practices. Monitor performance of established tasks and troubleshoot sanitation and quality issues. Perform disciplinary actions when required to drive accountability and maintain high standards. Report directly to the Sanitation Manager. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED plus 2+ years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ months of sanitation experience. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree is preferred. 3+ years of sanitation experience in food manufacturing (nice to have). Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $65,500 - $94,200 (dependent on location and experience). Health, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, and wellness benefits start on day one.
