Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is needed for a night shift position. This role involves providing care for a wide range of patients in a busy MedSurg unit. The ideal candidate should be passionate about nursing and capable of working effectively within a team environment.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights from 1845 to 0715
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs

Unit Information

• Type: MedSurg (Medical Surgical) Unit
• Number of Beds: 52
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:4 on Days and Nights
• Common Diagnoses: Pneumonia, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), renal disease, sepsis, stroke, and overflow general surgical

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a med-surg environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure effective patient management.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual needs.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in electronic medical records.
• Assist with patient mobility and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS Certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred, but first-time travelers are accepted.

Additional Information

• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit for orientation.
• Charge Nurse: Two charge nurses on each shift without an assignment, along with two Break Nurses.
• Nurse Aids/Patient Care Techs: Available at a ratio of 1:7 on Days and 1:11 on Nights.
• Clinical Team: Clinical team will review resumes and, if recommended, will facilitate a phone interview.
