Welder/Fabricator

Job TitleStone Products, a division of The Beaver Companies, works behind the scenes of the aggregate and construction industry supplying, repairing, and fabricating the equipment that processes stone, sand, gravel, and other materials used on job sites every day.Main Job Tasks & ResponsibilitiesFollows all corporate safety guidelinesOperates saws, shears, cranes and other shop equipment as neededFabricates, welds, grinds and burns numerous types of metalsMaintains shop floor organization and cleanlinessGoes on service calls that may sometimes require an individual to stay out of town for a short period (service calls pay additional wages per hour as an incentive)Other tasks as assignedSkills & RequirementsStrong fabrication backgroundExperience with welding, burning and equipment operationWillingness and ability to work on various types of equipment that would, at times, not require any fabricatingWillingness and ability to occasionally stay out of town for short periods of timeWillingness and ability to work a minimum of 50 hours per week on averageMore fabrication skills than welding skillsBe able to read a tape measure accurately to the nearest 1/16"Be very proficient in stick weldingMig welding experienceVery proficient in carbon arc/air arc gougingExperience in using lancing rodsGeneral knowledge of hard facing applications on heavy dirt moving equipmentKnow how to pull and calculate anglesHeavy plate fabrication experienceExperience using iron workers/drill press/press brakesOverhead crane experienceEducation & Experience2-5 years of structural and miscellaneous fabrication and weldingAWS D1.1 CertificationPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
