Travel Surgical Technologist

American Traveler is seeking an OB Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of OB-specific experience for a night shift position in a Labor and Delivery unit in Denver, CO.

Job Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care hospital setting,
• Obstetric surgical patient population requiring scrub tech support during OB cases,
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week),
• Epic used for charting,
• Floating to other departments may be required based on business need,
• On-call during regularly scheduled shifts may be required,

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Tech experience, with at least 1 year specifically in OB,
• Graduation from a formal, accredited Surgical Technologist program required (US military training may substitute),
• High school diploma or GED required,
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required (must not expire prior to start date),
• DORA (Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies) registration required,
• Surgical Technician Certificate required,
• Active license required if applicable,
• DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration,
• OB experience should be clearly reflected on resume/profile,

Additional Information

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile technique throughout surgical cases,
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to physician preference lists,
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures,
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments per established policy and proper technique,
• Handle and prepare specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per policy and standards of practice,
• Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup, supply replacement, restocking, and equipment care,
• Former permanent staff of any Intermountain facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment,
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred
