Compensation: $135,000 - $273,000 / year Department: Engineering Location: Mount Laurel, NJ About The Role Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to be part of our team based out of Mount Laurel, NJ. Clearance & Location Requirements All applicants must be able to obtain or maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Position is on-site at Mount Laurel, NJ, requiring at least five days per week in the office. Key Responsibilities System Stress Testing & Modeling: Execute complex system stress tests and use MATLAB to model and evaluate weapons systems. Performance Analysis: Calculate, analyze, and evaluate probabilistic combat system performance measures such as PK, PES, PSI, and CK, especially for live fire and Aegis scenarios. Real-Time Architecture Evaluation: Navigate, test, and validate within a real‑time, event‑based architecture that utilizes DDS RTI and UDP communications (e.g., Sigpro SPY). Software Certification: Ensure software meets rigorous certification standards and validation processes. Architecture Evolution: Participate in ongoing testing and rearchitecting of the system as the program evolves. Mentorship: Provide guidance, support, and domain knowledge transfer to junior engineering staff. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience. 7+ years of full‑time professional experience in systems engineering or related technical roles. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed. Proven leadership with a strong track record of mentoring junior engineers. Advanced software development expertise in C++ and Java within an AWS‑centric environment. Deep understanding of real‑time processing and event‑based architectures, specifically utilizing DDS RTI and UDP communications. Extensive experience with MATLAB weapons models. Knowledge of probabilistic combat system performance measures (PK, PES, PSI, CK). Familiarity with software certification principles and AI agent use for recompiling tasks. What Makes You Stand Out Aegis Domain Knowledge: Prior experience with the Aegis combat system is highly desired and training will be provided for the right candidate. Hands‑on experience developing and deploying software in AWS‑centric environments. Pay Range $135,000 - $231,000 or $164,000 - $273,000. Pursuant to New Jersey Senate Bill 2310, IDT is required to disclose the pay scale associated with this posting. The advertised range may vary based on experience, skills, and education.
