Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and evaluating patient responses. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on patient condition and team competencies. Essential Functions of the Role Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans and adjust them to achieve desired outcomes. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; assess and document learning needs regularly. Collaborate with colleagues and community to create collaborative care plans. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly; use strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient‑care planning and delivery. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to professional growth. Key Success Factors Deep understanding of nursing and patient‑care standards and procedures. Proficiency in medical terminology, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Positive social skills for interacting with diverse parties. Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking capabilities. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, and email. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Registered Nurse license. Must have BLS certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting in this role.
