RN - NICU

Responsible for the care and treatment of newborn infants suffering from illness or prematurity, as well as caring for their parents and guardians. Provide round-the-clock care for the basic and medical needs of newborn infants in the NICU. Assist the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments.
RN NICU Nights Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Waxahachie Department: NICU/Nursery Special Care Shift/Schedule: FT Nights, (3)12-hour shifts, 6:50 PM-7:15 AM Unit Specifics: We are a 5 bed NICU with 6 bed capability. Level 2 NICU currently. Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. What You'll Do You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment. What Will Make You Successful In The Role A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules. Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
