About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Louisville, Kentucky, 40201!

• Provide direct nursing care on a high-acuity neuro rehab unit primarily serving patients with Spinal Cord Injuries, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Strokes (CVA), Amputations, Burns, and Multi-Trauma diagnoses
• Perform and manage tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, IV therapy, PICC and central line management, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, G-tube/PEG tube feeds, and drain/tube management
• Operate and document within Cerner EMR; administer medications via Omnicell dispensing and manage IV therapy using Plum 360 pumps
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7, with ratios occasionally reaching 1:7 up to a few times per month
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including MDs, NPs, Residents, PT/OT/ST, PCAs/CNAs, and unit coordinators
• Participate in weekend rotation and work some holidays as assigned; back-to-back holiday groupings will be split so only one of the pair is assigned per contract

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky or compact state eligibility
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency with trach care, ventilator management, central lines, PICC lines, wound care, TPN, and enteral feeding
• First-time travelers may be considered with manager approval

• Prior experience in acute care or high-acuity rehabilitation settings strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Experience caring for pulmonary patients including those with laryngectomies
• Comfort with patients who may float off-unit for hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD)
