Medical Assistants – Multiple Long Island Locations
Phaxis is hiring Medical Assistants for opportunities throughout Suffolk County!
Locations: Smithtown, Stony Brook, Lake Grove, Commack, and additional locations available
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $20.28–$25.34/hour
Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals, medications, and chief complaints in the EMR
- Perform routine screenings including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
- Collect and process laboratory specimens and perform routine testing as needed
- Enter proposed orders into the EMR for provider approval
- Obtain previous test results and medical records from outside facilities
- Educate patients regarding treatments, medications, and provider instructions
- Clean and sterilize instruments and properly dispose of medical supplies
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient messages
- Follow established protocols for patient flow and visit completion
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
