GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Ensures that all aspects of tablet press and coating

operations are performed in accordance with approved operating procedures and in

compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

• Follow Current Good Manufacturing Practices

• Ensures employee training is current and cross-training is achieved when

needed.

• Oversees the Tableting and Coating operations with attention to safety, quality

and efficiency

• Oversees the Tableting and Coating equipment operation. Notifies Maintenance

if equipment requires immediate or preventative maintenance.

• Notifies manager of any production issues

• Makes adjustments to equipment throughout the day as needed

• Makes sure that Manager is informed of any needs for the department

• Assigns tasks to direct reports and monitors progress

• Assist in Tableting and Coating machine set up

• Conducts new employee orientation, including basic safety orientation.

• Conducts on the job training on approved operating procedures.

• Continually reinforces approved operating and safety procedures.

• Completes production documentation and ensures that Batch Production

Records are followed and that the information on the batch record is accurate

and complete.

• Monitors Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and completes reports and

documentation related to the process.

• Works with Manager and Human Resources to address employee performance

issues..

• Investigates non-conformances, deviations, and other manufacturing-related

issues.

• Makes recommendations to the department Manager for efficiency

improvements.

• Performs routine spot checks during daily production to ensure quality and safety

standards are met.

• Completes production reports and other reports for the department

• Continually reinforces approved operating and safety procedures.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work

• Responsible for following up and notifying Manager of any changes or issues

with production schedule

• Follow directions on batch production record

• Follows all approved applicable SOPs

• Work with QA and Lab to resolve any issues pertaining to the product

• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Proficient in oral and written English

• Strong math skills

• Strong computer skills

• Strong Communication skills

• Ability to prioritize

• Sound judgement and problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Stand and walk on hard surfaces for long periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time.

• Stand/remain upright and stationary for long periods of time, up to 4 hours.

• Kneel, bend, stoop and squat repetitively.

• Twist and turn repeatedly.

• Reach down, forward and overhead repeatedly.

• Use personal protective equipment (PPE), ear gloves, lab coat, hair net, face

mask, and respirator, etc.

• Lift up to 50lbs.

• Operate a pallet jack.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous manufacturing work experience.

• 3-6 months as a Tablet Press Operator with an understanding of the Coating

Process.
