Laboratory - Pathology Assistant

Pathologist AssistantJob Title: Pathologist Assistant Profession: Pathologist Assistant Specialty: Pathology - Anatomical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: NY DOH Pathologists Assistant License Certifications: ASCP certification preferred Must-Have: Ability to gross specimens/biopsies Description: Select and identify tissue for microscopic examination. Describe measures and dictate gross findings on select specimens using appropriate terminology. Determine proper fixative and decalcification procedures. Photograph specimens as appropriate for specific use and documentation. Gross specimens and biopsies, approximately 200 cases per day. Familiarity with Epic and Cerner Millennium is required. Candidates who cannot perform grossing and solely conduct biopsying will be considered for one of the openings with a reduced rate.
