Join us in making a difference in our community while enjoying a fulfilling and rewarding career.Job Summary:The Director of Finance owns the day-to-day operating leadership of the finance function and ensures financial information is timely, accurate, actionable, and used to support disciplined management decisions. This role leads financial reporting, accounting oversight, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, procurement, internal controls, financial policies, and finance systems. The Director serves as the primary financeleader for routine reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and budget-owner support, escalating strategic, material, high-risk, or executive-level matters to the Chief Financial Officer.Supervisory Responsibilities:Leads, supervises, and develops Finance Department staff and oversees assigned functions, including accounting, financial analysis, purchasing and procurement, treasury, budgeting, and reporting.Oversees the Accounting Department and accounting operations, with day-to-day accounting activities managed by the Accounting Manager, who reports to this role.Participates in staffing, training, coaching, accountability, and performance evaluation processes for Finance Department staff.Ensures staff follow applicable policies, procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.Duties/Responsibilities:Maintains the integrity of financial reporting, accounting records, revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities, and related financial data in accordance with GAAP, organizational policies, grant requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.Oversees accounting operations, the monthly and annual close, account reconciliations, journal entry review, financial statement preparation, capital asset accounting, capital project tracking, fixed asset records, and related financial reporting.Owns recurring FP&A, including monthly reporting packages, variance analysis, forecasting, scenario modeling, service line analysis, department-level financial review, and executive-level recommendations.Leads the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including the budget calendar, departmental assumptions, budget-owner education, budget-to-actual reviews, and executive-ready summaries.Serves as the primary Finance liaison to budget owners and operational leaders for routine budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis matters; leads financial performance discussions; supports accountability; and escalates material or strategic issues to the CFO.Coordinates major external financial deliverables, including audits, Medicare Cost Report, New Markets Tax Credits and loan-related compliance reporting, lender reporting, grant reporting, and other required submissions.Oversees treasury operations, cash flow and liquidity monitoring, banking relationships, debt obligations, lender covenants; escalates material risks or potential compliance issues to the CFO.Oversees purchasing and procurement processes, including policy compliance, competitive procurement requirements, approval workflows, vendor documentation, and related internal controls.Maintains financial policies, procedures, internal controls, approval workflows, documentation standards, and the finance operating calendar through monitoring, testing, corrective action, and follow-through.Supports grant financial management by ensuring accurate accounting, allowable cost treatment, reporting, documentation, and compliance with applicable award requirements.Partners with Revenue Cycle, Operations, and other departments to evaluate revenue integrity, reimbursement trends, financial risks, workflows, cash flow, reporting accuracy, and sustainability opportunities.Exercises independent financial judgment by identifying emerging issues, recommending corrective actions, distinguishing routine operational matters from strategic CFO-level decisions, and driving follow up with responsible leaders.Evaluates finance systems, reporting tools, purchasing workflows, and data processes; recommends upgrades, automation, new tools, and process improvements; leads approved operational implementations; supports major system initiatives under the CFO’s direction; and performs other related duties as assigned.Key Performance Expectations:Monthly financial reporting packages are accurate, timely, and include clear explanations of material variances, trends, risks, and recommended actions.Budget-to-actual and rolling forecast processes are completed on schedule with documented assumptions, budget-owner input, and follow-up on material variances.Budget owners receive routine finance support and accountability, with routine questions resolved without unnecessary CFO escalation.Audit, cost report, lender, grant, and compliance deliverables are completed on time with appropriate review, documentation, and minimal rework.Financial risks, operational trends, control issues, system needs, and performance concerns are identified timely, communicated clearly, and paired with recommended corrective actions.Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Strong leadership, supervision, coaching, staff development, accountability, organizational, and attention to-detail skills.Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to executive, operational, Board, lender, auditor, and grantor audiences.Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit healthcare finance, FQHC reimbursement and reporting concepts, grant compliance, Uniform Guidance/Single Audit requirements, Medicare Cost Report expectations, lender reporting, and applicable laws and regulations.Demonstrated ability to independently lead recurring financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and budget-owner engagement processes with minimal day-to-day direction.Proficient with accounting systems, budgeting and forecasting tools, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, reporting tools, spreadsheets, procurement systems, electronic health record/practice management data, and standard office and accounting equipment.Education and ExperienceRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or another related field.9+ years of accounting and strategic financial leadership experience required.6+ years of supervisory experience required.5+ years of accounting and/or strategic financial management experience in a healthcare setting requiredPreferred:CPA designationFQHC, community health center, safety-net, ambulatory care, or nonprofit healthcare experienceOther Requirements:New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022) #J-18808-Ljbffr
