Position Overview

The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary team, consisting of both licensed and unlicensed caregivers, dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality, and safe patient care. This role operates within a clinical environment overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practices and research. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, as well as the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association. As a key member of the patient services team, you will advocate for the patient’s voice while adhering to system policies and striving for service excellence.

Core Responsibilities

• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
  • Conduct the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (age, gender, disease, etc.) and cultural diversity.
  • Engage with patients and their significant others through effective communication methods, ensuring their goals are central to the care plan.
• Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care while promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate teamwork by practicing fiscal responsibility and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support shared governance at all levels.
• Professional Development:
  • Complete all required competency assessments and ongoing education.
  • Serve as a mentor or preceptor for other nurses and staff to ensure a qualified workforce.
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
  • Promote evidence-based practices and participate in nursing research and performance improvement activities.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
• Resources and Support:
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum while collaborating with care managers and team members.
  • Support the efficient use of resources and participate in protocol development to achieve optimal outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (Single State or Multi-State Compact) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred or to be obtained within 180 days.
• Experience:
  • Preferred experience in direct patient care.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic computer skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking abilities.
